8051winXL is a simulation program for visualization of assembler code files in Intel-HEX-format for micro controller, working with 8051-command set. The screen layout can be changed for controllers with internal or external ROM/RAM and an easy training layout.

You can compile these HEX-files with any assembler program. With 8051winXL you can open these files, disassemble them and watch the effect of the individual commands (get command... decode ... run ...) or do step wise look. You always have an overview of all internal registers, the external program and data memory, and ports. In single step command processing the internal data transports are shown graphically on screen. The simulation speed is adjustable.

 

You can use 8051winXL with simulating full or, in the model-computer mode, a reduced instruction set. To the ports you can connect simulated I /O devices such as switches, LEDs, traffic lights etc.. Interrupt and timer / counter flags are displayed clearly.

8051winXL should be used as a test instrument between the program development phase, "Assembly" and "upload to the target system." .It provides a deeper insight into the working methods of a controller, as contained in most development environments (IDE) debugger.

8051winXL needs no hardware for simulation, but provides with the integrated download function, transfer of any HEX file to the target system.
